How to get something picked up and dropped off across town with Meta Muse

You left your charger at your mother's. Your sister needs the spare keys tonight. A signed form has to be at an office by five. Muse can find the address and write the note, but it cannot send anybody to fetch the thing.

No Errands Courier can. You tell Muse what needs to go where, Muse gets a free quote from a same-day courier network, shows you the price, and books a real courier only when you say yes. Then it tells you where the item is until it arrives.

A trip under 5 miles typically comes to $16.62. The quote is free and it is the price; nothing is charged until you confirm.

The service is being rolled out across the United States, so it does not cover every address yet. The quote tells you whether yours is covered.

What you need

• A Muse account.
• The pickup and drop-off addresses.
• A name and phone number for the person at each end. That can be you. Both people have to know about it and have agreed.
• The item, its size and its rough value.

Step 1: Get a key

Go to https://noerrands.com/get-key, enter your email, and leave the choice on read and write so Muse is allowed to book. One key covers courier, mail, fax, bookings and tables. The key is shown once, so keep the tab open until step 3.

4. Before you mail anything, fax anything, book anything, contact a
   restaurant, buy a shipping label, order prints, send a card, send a
   courier, or send a document for signature, show me exactly what will
   happen, what it costs and who it goes to. Then wait for my explicit
   approval. Never act without asking me first. Signing links go out only
   from my own email, after I approve each message.

6. When it is set up, check it works by asking for my balance (free), then
   tell me in a few lines what I can ask you for. Offer to try it with
   something free: a document I sign myself (my first one is free) or a
   price quote for a letter. Do not spend my credits to test it.

Muse reads our connector briefs, writes its own client, tests it, and saves it as a reusable skill. Approve network access to our domain when Muse asks. You will see a caution notice because Meta does not review custom connectors.

Step 3: Paste your key into the Secure Credentials Store

When Muse asks for the key it opens its Secure Credentials Store. Paste the key in there, never into the chat.

Muse's agent never sees the real key. It works with a stand-in token and the real value is swapped in at the network edge, so a web page cannot talk Muse into leaking it.

Step 4: Ask Muse for a quote

For example:

Get my spare keys picked up from my apartment and dropped with my sister Dana across town.

Muse asks for anything missing: the two addresses, Dana's number, and whether Dana knows the keys are coming. It also asks you to confirm the item is not on the list of things that cannot be sent. Then it gets a quote, which is free and books nothing, and reads back:

• the pickup: address and the person handing it over;
• the drop-off: address and the person receiving it;
• the item;
• the price, and the tip if you want to add one;
• the return fee, charged only if nobody can take it at the other end.

Then it waits. No courier is booked until you say yes.

Step 5: Say yes, then follow it

Say yes and Muse books the courier. A quote lasts five minutes; if you take longer, Muse gets a fresh one and shows you the new price before it books.

Muse reads the status back and gives you the tracking link:

• requested -- booked, waiting for a courier. You can still cancel for a full refund.
• courier_assigned -- a courier is on the way to the pickup.
• picked_up -- the item is on its way.
• delivered -- the courier network reports the hand-off. There may be a photo.
• returned -- nobody could take it, so it went back to the pickup.

Muse is not allowed to tell you the item was delivered before the status says delivered. If it does, it is guessing.

To call it off before a courier is assigned:

Cancel the courier.

That refunds everything, tip included. Once a courier is assigned it can no longer be cancelled through Muse; email support@noerrands.com.

What it costs

The quote is always the number that counts, because the courier network's fee grows with the distance. The rows above are typical trips.

A tip goes to the courier in full. It costs 1.35 credits per cent because credits are sold at a bonus: a $5.00 tip costs $6.75 of credit, so a short trip with that tip is $23.37. At the best rate we sell credits, that is exactly the tip.

If nobody can take the item and it goes back to the pickup, a return fee of 60% of the trip price is charged, for example $9.98 on a short trip. The quote shows it before you say yes.

A courier trip is paid from ordinary credit. Every pack credits more than it costs: $2.49 for a single letter, or $10.00 for $12.50 of credit (one free letter), $25.00 for $32.50 of credit (three free letters) and $50.00 for $67.50 of credit (seven free letters). Add credits.

Things to know before you rely on it

• It is not insured. If something goes wrong, the most we are liable for is the credits charged for that trip. Items worth more than $250.00 are refused. Do not send anything irreplaceable.
• Some things cannot be sent at all: alcohol, tobacco or vapes, cash, gift cards, weapons, medication of any kind, drugs, hazardous items, animals, anything illegal, and anything over 50 lbs.
• Size matters. Small means it fits in a bag. Medium means it needs a car's back seat. Anything bigger is refused.
• Both people must be expecting it. The person at the drop-off may get texts about the delivery.
• Arrival times are estimates from the courier network.

Questions people ask

What does a courier cost with Meta Muse?

The quote is the price, and it depends on the distance. A trip under 5 miles typically comes to $16.62, about 10 miles $22.24, and about 15 miles $27.87. A tip is optional and goes to the courier in full. The quote is free.

Can Muse book a courier without checking with me?

No. Getting a price and booking are two separate steps. Muse must show you the pickup, the drop-off, the item, the price and the tip, and get your explicit yes before it books.

For a hard guarantee, ask for a read-only key on the key page. Muse can then get quotes and read your past deliveries, but the server refuses any attempt to book one.

What can I not send?

Alcohol, tobacco or vapes, cash, gift cards, weapons, medication of any kind, drugs, hazardous items, animals, anything illegal, and anything over 50 lbs or worth more than $250.00.

Is it insured?

No. If something goes wrong, the most we are liable for is the credits charged for that trip. Do not send anything you could not afford to lose.

Can I cancel?

Yes, for a full refund including the tip, until a courier is assigned. After that a courier is on the way and you need to email support.

Does it work where I live?

It is being rolled out across the United States, so not everywhere yet. Ask for a quote: if either address is not covered, the quote says so and nothing is booked.

What happens to the addresses and phone numbers?

They go to the courier network so it can do the trip. Thirty days after the delivery is finished we cut each address to a city and each name to an initial, and delete the phone numbers. Full detail on the courier privacy page.
