Send a thank-you postcard from a photo with Meta Muse

You have the photo. You meant to send a thank-you. It has been three weeks. Meta Muse cannot mail anything by itself, because nothing in the app touches paper. Connect No Errands Mail once and you can hand Muse a photo, say who it is for, and a real card goes in the post for $1.49, with the message set in a handwriting-style font. Muse shows you the picture, the words, the address and the price, then waits for you to approve it.

Say this out loud first

The message is printed in a font that looks like handwriting. No human writes it. It is not pen on card and it lacks the small wobble a real hand has. Most people find it warm anyway.

We say this on the page rather than in the small print, because the point of a thank-you card is that it is sincere, and a small lie is a strange way to begin one.

What you need

Step 1: Get a key

Go to https://noerrands.com/get-key, enter your email, and leave the choice on read and write. The key is shown once, so keep the tab open until step 3.

Step 2: Paste the prompt into Muse

Copy the whole block and paste it into Muse as one message.

Build a custom connector for No Errands. One API key covers three services:
printed mail (letters and postcards), fax, and appointment booking.

2. Store my API key in the Secure Credentials Store as NOERRANDS_API_KEY.
   The same key works for all three. Never print, log, echo, or repeat it,
   not even partially.
   Send it as the header: Authorization: Bearer <NOERRANDS_API_KEY>

3. Prefer the MCP endpoints (streamable HTTP):

4. Before you mail anything, fax anything, or book anything, show me exactly
   what will happen, what it costs, and who it goes to, and wait for my
   explicit approval. Never act without asking me first.

5. Save this as a reusable skill called "Mail, fax and bookings".

Muse reads our connector briefs, writes its own client, tests it, and saves it as a reusable skill. Approve network access to our domain when Muse asks. Meta will also warn you that custom connectors are not reviewed by Meta. It is true; here is what it means.

Step 3: Paste your key into the Secure Credentials Store

The key goes into the Secure Credentials Store as NOERRANDS_API_KEY, never into the chat. Meta's design gives the agent a stand-in value and swaps the real secret in at the network edge.

Step 4: Add credits

Say "add credits to my mail account" and pay in your own browser. Your options are $2.49 for a single letter, or $10.00 for $12.50 of credit (one free letter), $25.00 for $32.50 of credit (three free letters) and $50.00 for $67.50 of credit (seven free letters) -- every pack credits more than it costs.

Step 5: Give Muse the photo and the address

Point Muse at the photo, then say something like:

Make this into a postcard for Aunt Dee. Say thank you for the sewing machine and that I have already made two aprons. She is at 88 Larkspur Lane, Sacramento CA 95814.

Postcard from this beach photo to the Ruiz family, 14 Oak Street, Austin TX 78701. Thank them for letting us use the house.

Send this to my old teacher with a short thank-you. Keep it under four sentences.

Muse writes the message if you let it, or you can dictate it word for word. Either way you see it before it goes.

A useful trick. Ask for options. "Give me three versions, one funny, one plain, one sentimental" takes ten seconds and the third one is usually right.

Before it sends, Muse checks the address and shows you the corrected version, prices it at $1.49, then shows you the photo on the front, the message on the back, who it goes to and the total, and waits for you to say yes.

Questions people ask

Is the message really handwritten?

No. It is printed in a font that looks like handwriting. No human writes it, and it lacks the small wobble a real hand has.

Can I send the same card to ten people?

Ask Muse to repeat it for each address. Each card is $1.49. There is no bulk discount in this version.

Can I pick the handwriting style?

Not in this version. One handwriting-style font.

Will it look printed?

The message looks like neat handwriting. The card itself looks like a printed card, because it is one.

Can I put a photo on the back too?

No. Photo on the front, message on the back.

When will it arrive?

Muse gives you an expected delivery date when the card is accepted. That is the carrier's estimate.

Can I cancel?

No. Once it is accepted for printing it is on its way. The approval screen is your last look.

Can I send it to Canada?

No. United States addresses only right now.

Who sees my photo?
