No Errands Sign connector: terms

Effective 2026-09-21. These terms cover the electronic signature connector run by Maren Technologies LLC, a company organised in Missouri, United States. They add to the general terms of service; where the two differ, this page governs the sign connector.

What the connector does

You, or an AI agent acting for you, give us a PDF and the people who need to sign it. We return one private signing link per signer. You deliver each link to its signer yourself, from your own email. The signer opens the link, reads the document, agrees to use electronic records and signatures, and signs or declines. When everyone has signed, we stamp the signatures into the document, add a certificate page with the audit trail, and keep the finished PDF for you to download.

You can also sign a document yourself, for example a form your agent filled in for you. That is a self-sign envelope, with you as the only signer.

Legal basis

Electronic signatures and records are given legal effect in the United States by the federal Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN, 15 U.S.C. 7001 and following) and by the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA) as adopted by the states. New York has its own Electronic Signatures and Records Act, and ESIGN applies there too.

The service is built to what those laws ask for:

• Intent to sign. Nothing is signed by opening, scrolling or closing the page. A signer must type their name or draw a signature and press Sign beside a sentence saying they adopt it as their signature and intend to sign.
• Consent to do business electronically. The signing page shows an electronic record and signature disclosure, and the Sign button stays disabled until the signer ticks a box agreeing to use electronic records and signatures for that one document. The consent is recorded separately, with a timestamp. A signer who does not agree can decline instead, and can ask you, the sender, for a paper copy.
• Association with the record. Each signature is drawn into the PDF, and a certificate page in the same file ties each signer, their timestamps and a SHA-256 fingerprint of the original document together.
• Retention and printing. The document is always offered as a plain, unencrypted PDF that anyone with a link can save and print. We never restrict printing, copying or saving.

Whether a particular document is enforceable, and whether a particular signer was entitled to sign it, depends on the document, the parties and the state. We do not give legal advice, and using this service is not a substitute for it.

Documents you may not send

ESIGN and UETA exclude some documents from electronic signature, and others need a notary or a court process we do not provide. You may not use this connector for:

• wills, codicils and testamentary trusts;
• adoption, divorce and other family-law matters;
• court orders, notices and official court documents, including briefs and pleadings;
• notices of cancellation or termination of utility services;
• notices of default, acceleration, repossession, foreclosure or eviction on a primary residence;
• notices of cancellation or termination of health or life insurance benefits;
• product recall or material-failure notices affecting health or safety;
• documents that must accompany hazardous materials, pesticides or other toxic or dangerous materials;
• negotiable instruments and other Uniform Commercial Code documents outside Articles 2 and 2A;
• anything that must be notarized, witnessed or acknowledged. We are not a notary and not a remote online notarization platform.

We do not read the documents you send, so this is a rule you agree to, not a filter we run. A document sent in breach of it is your responsibility.

We are not a party to the document

• We are not a party to anything you send for signature, and we are not anyone's agent in it. We provide the signing page, the audit trail and the finished file. The agreement is between you and your signers.
• We do not draft, review or explain documents, and we do not check that a document says what you meant it to.
• We do not verify who a signer is. A signer is identified only by having the private link you delivered to the email address you gave us. We record the IP address, browser and timestamps of every view, consent and signature, and we say on the certificate that we did not independently verify the signer's email or identity. If you need stronger proof of identity, use a process that provides it.
• Anyone who has a signing link can sign as that signer. Keep links private.

Your responsibilities as the sender

You agree that:

• you have the right to send the document, and it is lawful to have it signed;
• the names and email addresses you give us are correct, and each link goes to the person it was issued for and nobody else;
• your signers are willing to receive the request and to sign electronically, and you will give any of them a paper copy, or a way to sign on paper, if they ask;
• you will not use the service to deceive a signer about what they are signing, to impersonate anyone, or to send anything unlawful, harassing or unsolicited;
• you keep your own copy of the finished document. Ours is a convenience copy held for the retention period you chose, not your system of record.

Whatever is sent with your API key is treated as sent by you.

We send no email

We do not email your signers. Each signing link comes back to you, and you, or your agent with your approval, send it from your own email account. That way a signer hears from someone they know, and every message is in your own sent folder.

Approval before every send

Sending an envelope costs money and issues links that let a real person sign a real document. The connector brief requires any agent using this service to get a quote first, show it to you, and send only after your explicit approval, to confirm every signer's name and email with you, and to deliver each link only after you approve the message.

You can limit this further by using a read-only API key. The server refuses any envelope created or sent with one.

Price and refunds

Prices are published at /pricing and are charged in credits.

• An envelope to 1 to 5 signers is $1.99. A self-sign envelope is $0.99. Your first self-sign envelope is free.
• Preparing an envelope and its quote is free. You are charged once, when the envelope is sent, exactly the amount on the quote you approved.
• Refund rule. If you void or delete a sent envelope before any signer has opened their link, the full charge goes back to your balance. Once any signer has opened a link, voiding is still free but there is no refund. Declined and expired envelopes are not refunded: the envelope was delivered.

If your balance is too low, nothing is sent and no credits are taken. Credits are bought in advance through Stripe, in your own browser. Your card details go to Stripe, never to us.

Retention

We keep documents only for the period you choose, then delete them. The details are on the connector privacy page. Save the finished PDF when you get it.

Not affiliated with Meta

Maren Technologies LLC is an independent company. Muse is a product of Meta Platforms, Inc. Connecting through Muse does not make Meta a party to this agreement. No third-party e-signature company is involved either.

Liability

The limits, disclaimers, indemnity, and governing law in the general terms of service apply to this connector. In particular, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for the content or enforceability of any document, for a document sent in breach of the excluded list above, for a signature made by someone who obtained a signing link from you or your signer, or for any dispute between you and a signer. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from a document you sent or from a link you delivered to the wrong person.
